Presently there aren’t state regulations in place for security guards
in Wyoming according to the Attorney General’s office. However, city or
county levels may have their own requirements, in which case you should
contact your local police station or City Clerk’s office. Additionally,
a weapon permit and firearm training may also be required. The company
that hires you may also have basic criteria that you must meet.
Standard requirements for Armed Security guards across state lines:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- United States citizen or legal alien
- No felony convictions or any crime involving the illegal use of weapons
- Successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting
- Pass drug testing
- Good moral character
- Successfully complete firearms training and obtain weapon permit
- Valid identification ( Wyoming driver’s license, state id or passport)
- Good physical conditioning

Depending on the city that you are applying for your armed security license, the requirement will vary. It is best to contact your local Police department to find out the exact requirements. However, basic requirement may be as follows:- Weapons permit
